Lassila & Tikanoja (L&T) is growing its cleaning business in Sweden with the acquisition of Östgöta Städ AB, a cleaning services company. The acquisition will take effect on 1 May 2011.
Östgöta Städ specialises in cleaning services. The company was established in 1966, and it has operations in several locations in southern Sweden, including Norrköping, Jönköping, Linköping and Motala. Östgöta Städ has a turnover of approximately EUR 12 million and it employs more than 400 personnel.
“This acquisition will strengthen our market position and support our current business in southern Sweden, and it will make us an even bigger player in the cleaning industry. Our objective is to have our Finnish and Swedish organisations share best practices and thereby to further sharpen our competitive edge,” explains Henri Turunen, divisional Vice President at L&T.
The combination of Östgöta Städ with L&T will have no effect on the services provided to customers. Cleaning services at customer locations will continue in accordance with existing agreements.
The acquisition will raise L&T's number of Swedish personnel to 1,000.
